5 exciting 2024 wedding trends to pay attention to!
Something we love about our venue is that it’s completely versatile. In the past, couples have completely transformed the barn, outside area and marquee to fit their theme and tastes, whether it’s a vintage-inspired, laid back day or colourful, all-out festival event. Bennetts Willow Barn is the perfect setting to recreate some of the 2024 wedding trends that are coming your way.
For those of you planning on getting hitched in 2024, I’m sure you’re already thinking about those important elements that go into making your day unique, from tableware, activities and food to decor and dresses. Trends will be appearing on Instagram and Pinterest that you may want to take inspiration from – you just need to work out how and where you can implement them. Here are our Bennetts Willow Barn wedding trend predictions for 2024.
Sustainability
Weddings can be wasteful! Whether it’s decorations that will be binned or a dress that’s never worn again, a one-off day can often lead to one-off usage. We’ve noticed green and eco-friendly weddings rising in popularity as couples decide to ditch some of the traditions that are bad for the planet. According to WeddingDates.co.uk, a 2023 report found that 58% of couples surveyed were integrating planet-saving components into their celebrations.
Instead of plastic and paper confetti, why not dry out flower petals for guests to throw? Not only will they look and smell beautiful, there will be no need for a clean-up job afterwards. Some other ideas rising in popularity include thrifted wedding dresses, recycled decorations and seasonal menus.
Are you based in Worcester? Choosing a location close to home will encourage lift sharing for guests and require less miles travelled per person. Not only is this better for the environment, but I’m sure they’ll be thanking you for the easy trip.
Unconventional Venues
Couples are now opting for more unique venues which better reflect their styles and personalities. Lots of unusual places have been getting their wedding licences recently, from zoos and aquariums to theatres and even Go-Ape.
Our own venue is slightly unconventional- it’s on a farm! You and your guests can enjoy a private, idyllic outdoor space with vintage garden games, a rodeo bull, hay bales and fairground games, as well as a firepit to toast marshmallows over.

Summer Camp
When you think of an American Summer Camp, it actually has all the components for a great rustic wedding- space, nature, activities and stunning photo opportunities. The theme has been rising in popularity recently as couples look for more relaxed options and want to have a fun, chilled out day. You can extend the theme as far as you want- bunting, tents, smores… even a no phones rule!
Bringing the Outside Inside
With a similar thought process as a Summer Camp wedding, bringing elements of nature indoors is expected to be popular next year- it looks beautiful, feels romantic, and means you can still get lots of great pictures in front of florals and greenery without worrying about the weather ruining your day. Some ideas include creating an enchanted forest by draping vines, wisteria and fairy lights from the ceiling, floral garland runners and wooden trunks used as stands for flowers and the cake.
Weekend Wedding
For lots of couples, a day just isn’t enough anymore. Last year we saw an emerging trend of a post-wedding, or farewell brunch, where guests join together the next morning to reflect on the celebrations before heading home. This is an extension of a rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding.
After a long day of festivities, lots of guests prefer a wedding venue where they can stay the night and sleep off some of the alcohol they’ve consumed.
